A bit of history

1949

Opening of Ganterie Pierre N. Chaillez & Charles-Eugène Barbeau (in the basement of the factory in Saint-Stanislas).

1954

Natpro's official beginnings date back to 1954, when the Charrette family started making asbestos gloves and mittens in the family garage in Montreal.

1968

Robert Charrette buys Ganterie de Saint-Stanislas and merges the 2 companies to form National Safety Equipement.

1969

The company moves to its current factory at 20, rue Saint-Gérard, in Saint-Stanislas. The modern factory, then known as Nasco, runs smoothly and employs 100 people to manufacture gloves and industrial protective clothing.

1980

Death of Robert Charrette. Nasco closed its doors in 1982.

1983

Thanks to the support of the residents and municipality of Saint-Stanislas, and the partners at the time, Roderick Tanner, Normand Mongrain and Ron Freeman, the Natpro plant reopened its doors on October 24, 1983. Ron Freeman was then based in Calgary, where he developed the Western Canadian market.

1998

Purchase of Normand Mongrain's shares by the 2 other owners.

2016

Roderick Tanner dies. His daughter, Martine Veilleux, takes over the company.

2018

September 22, 2018, Natacha Desnoyers, Johanne Gauthier and Marie-Claude Guilbert acquire the company.

Our mission:

We help teams grow

This is where the Natpro adventure takes on its whole meaning: teaming up with our customers, suppliers, team members, and partners to work our magic and offer every worker all the protection they need.

Our values

Here are the elements that make up our DNA

These are the elements with which every decision, big or small, is made on a daily basis.

Treat everyone as you would like
to be treated

Do what it takes to deliver a "wow" factor

Be real and committed every minute

Cultivate mutual support and team spirit

Maintain a relationship of trust

Our vision

We protect workers around the globe

We help safeguard the parents of families, friends, cousins, and spouses. We take our vision very seriously. After all, it’s people that make all the difference.

We've transformed our vision into an indicator that every member of our team knows: 80,150. This number represents the number of kilometers it would take to go around the earth twice. It also represents the number of kilometers we want to cover with all the thread we use to make garments that protect workers.

One bobbin at a time, because each garment makes a difference.
We are currently at : 24,968 km!

Our team

Product Development Manager

Florence Escapoulade

Her Basque roots make her a fiercely determined colleague. Florence is always on hand to organize whatever needs organizing, with a touch of perfection. With a bit of a sweet tooth, this trained designer puts her talent and creativity to work in product development to create "wows" for her customers.

  • Her morning coffee and sports are essential to her well-being (and that of the team! Ha! Ha!).

Sales and Marketing Manager

Mathieu Cayouette

Originally from the Gaspé Peninsula, Mathieu has built up most of his professional experience in the footwear sector. Having evolved by seizing opportunities, his creativity, rigor and ease in building relationships are invaluable assets in serving our current and future customers. With an artistic flair, he accurately positions our company to reflect our DNA.

  • Cooking for himself and others is second nature—much to everyone's delight.

Production Manager

Yves Nadeau

Administration and Customer Experience Coordinator

Martine Fortier

Human Resources Manager

Marie-Pier Martel

Hailing directly from the renowned Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean region of Quebec, Marie-Pier has an unfailing sense of humor. During her day at the "chalet" (MP is with the team once a week), she deploys her skills and moves projects forward without missing a beat. The go-to partner for the production manager, her interventions are fair. She is committed to fostering a healthy and equitable work climate.

  • MP is definitely a high-octane individual! She's not afraid of the cold. When she's not speeding down trails on a mountain bike, she's running the trails and climbing through the backcountry.

President and General Manager (co-owner)

Natacha Desnoyers

Natacha always gives her 110%. The energy she puts into developing the company, team and people is through the roof. She thrives on seeing team members push their limits and accomplish great things. A caring person, she works to bring out the best in everyone while aligning the team to achieve its goals. Her team would tell you that she is an inspiration to contribute wholeheartedly to the beautiful Natpro adventure.

  • Natacha has only one speed: running step. When she's not walking with determination in our factor, you'll find her in the wild, running over rocks and roots.

Co-owner

Marie-Claude Guilbert

As management team members, Johanne and Marie-Claude's involvement makes all the difference when it comes to stepping back, contemplating things, and making the right decisions. When Johanne speaks, it's important to listen carefully: you'll always hear an informed comment that puts the team's well-being first. Conversely, Marie-Claude challenges ideas with relevant feedback. She always makes sure that no matter what we do, we do it right and at the right time.

  • They each cultivate joy and well-being in their own way: Johanne through hot baths and reading and Marie-Claude by taking care of her greenhouse and practicing meditation.

Co-owner

Johanne Gauthier

Production Supervisor

Lise Beauvillier

Lise is the pure definition of caring and kindness. She always has the pulse on how people are doing. An organizer at heart, she ensures that production runs smoothly to the best of everyone's ability. Her patience, skill and high level of playfulness make her an ideal ally in developing new products.

  • If you look for Lise at the weekends, you may well find her having fun with one, or two... or five grandchildren! Or setting up a loom for her 91-year-old mother!

Team Leader

Lorraine Mongrain

Lorraine first opened Natpro's door in June 1986. She brought a wealth of experience with her. Over the years, she has become a reference in Production Unit 1 (gloves, mittens, clothing and aluminized garments), particularly regarding quality control. Her eagle eye is an invaluable asset when it comes to offering our customers products that meet Natpro quality standards.

  • Lorraine loves the great outdoors and horses. She puts as much rigor and love into caring for and training her animals as she does into her work.

Team Leader

Josée Plourde

Don't let Josée's low-key approach fool you: she's all about drive! Josée is a jack-of-all-trades who does everything fast and well. With 35 years of experience behind her, she's seen a lot. That's what makes her a great team leader in a unit where our products cannot let any liquid through (waterproof clothing)!

  • Family and camping are important for Josée. If you're looking for her on weekends, you'll find her by the family lake, camping, and enjoying time with her loved ones.
